"The greatest love of all is happening to me..."
That was my favorite song as a child and honestly it still is. Whitney had it right, learning to love yourself really is the greatest love of all. When we do it becomes easier to believe we can do the impossible. We begin to see our doubts not as barriers but as opportunities to grow.
Sometimes opportunity arrives in the form of service.
Sometimes service is small.
Sometimes it asks more of us.
Service is saying hello to someone who looks like they need it. It's returning a grocery cart to the cart corral. It's listening to a stranger's story. Service may require you to suspend your beliefs and any judgement to hold space so that care can be given, and care can be received. We never know when we are called to serve or how.
But when the moment presents itself we have to believe that we can do what's possible.
For me now is a moment of yes. A moment of possibility. A moment to serve.
Making a difference on the Poudre School Board.
Public schools shaped my life and now they are shaping my kids'. I've seen what's possible when students feel safe, supported, and seen. I'm running for school board because I want that possibility protected and expanded for every student in our district.
Thriving schools are built when everyone, students, staff, educators, administrators, families, and community members feel a sense of care, belonging and shared responsibility. If you believe schools should be places where people are supported, where planning is thoughtful, and where every voice matters, you'll find alignment here. These beliefs reflect a vision of what's possible.
Schools can't do it alone. There has to be meaningful partnerships with between families, educators, staff, administrators, and the broader community. Schools thrive when we work together and not in isolation.
Schools aren't built year to year. They require strategic, sustained, and long-term planning to ensure that our schools can meet the needs of today and the challenges of tomorrow.
Our schools ought to have environments that are physically and emotionally safe, and structured to thrive, that supportive places to learn and work.
